A '60 VW owner sent a letter to Volkswagen complaining about this ad curious why VW had asked readers to spot the 27 changes from a 1960 model to a 1961 model, but then pictured two 1960 models noting that the '61 was missing the passenger dash grab handle new to the '61. Volkswagen kindly responded to the customer stating they didn't think anyone would notice the fact the VWs were both the same year and incidentally they were both '59's.
